e-m-s new media AG surpasses the total last year’s turnover within the first six months (E)

e-m-s new media AG (WKN 521280 / ISIN DE000521280) realized sales
revenues in its core business field home entertainment (sale of DVDs
and VHS-cassettes) of more than 7.1 million EURO (30.06.2002: 3.97
million EURO) during the first six months of the current financial
year, so that the total revenues of 2002 (7.07 million EURO) in this
field could already be exceeded within the first six months of 2003.
Thus, the positive trend of the first quarter of 2003 continues
unabatedly.

The trend of earnings develops very satisfying as well. A positive
surplus for the quarter from operating activities is expected also
for the second quarter. In the first quarter of 2003 the group’s
surplus amounted to 0.633 million EURO. 2.63 million resulting from
reversing accruals will be added in the second quarter as
extraordinary profits. As already announced this other operational
income could be realized as a settlement with Baader
Wertpapierhandelsbank AG regarding the obligation to purchase shares
in Advanced Medien was reached.

For the whole financial year 2003, the Management expects a
continuously positive development.
