Opening of a subsidiary company of the BSI SA in Italy

BSI SA, the Swiss based asset management bank of
the Assicurazioni Generali Group, active in Switzerland since 1873,
is pleased to announce that Banca BSI Italia SpA started banking
activities in Milan on April 2 2002.
Banca BSI Italia SpA, with 40 employees and assets under
management ¤ 1.4 billion, operates out of its main office in piazza
Sant'Alessandro 4 Milan, where it has been operating as BSI SIM SpA
for more than 11 years as well as from its new branch in Turin. This
strengthening of BSI's structure in Italy is just one feature of the
comprehensive expansion project which the Assicurazioni Generali
Group is planning for its Private Banking activities which aim to
successfully exploit both the Swiss banking tradition and the
financial expertise that has always characterised BSI, the oldest
bank in the Canton of Ticino.

    BSI Group posts solid first-half results

    Lugano (ots) - The BSI Group, an asset management bank based in Lugano and a subsidiary of Assicurazioni Generali SpA of Trieste, recorded a good first half in 2001, for the most part in line with budget forecasts.
