Resumption of dividend payments
The 9th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of Schaffner
Holding AG, which was held on January 12, 2005, approved a gross
dividend of CHF 2.00 per registered share. After deduction of
withholding tax of 35%, a net dividend of CHF 1.30 per registered
share will be payable as of January 17, 2005.
New Chairman of the Board of Directors
Following the Annual General Meeting, Schaffner bade farewell to
its longstanding Board Chairman Alex Oechslin, who has reached the
statutory age limit. The Board of Directors would like to thank the
outgoing Chairman for all his hard work. During more than 20 years,
Alex Oechslin played an absolutely crucial role in the development of
the Schaffner Group. Under his stewardship, the Schaffner Group
expanded to become the global enterprise it is today. Among the many
milestones achieved during his time with the Group were the opening
of a first production facility in Thailand back in 1989 and the
flotation of Schaffner Holding AG on the SWX Swiss Exchange in 1998.
The Board of Directors has appointed existing Board member Leo
Steiner (Chief Executive Officer of the Komax Group) as its new
Chairman.
New head for the Test Systems business
The new head of Schaffner's Test Systems business is Johannes
Schmid. As a member of the Group Management he will take over as
Executive Vice President, Head of Test Systems, from mid-February
2005. Johannes Schmid (1957) is a Swiss citizen. He graduated from
the ETH Zurich in 1981 with a diploma degree in electronic
engineering, going on to complete postgraduate studies in business
management at the ETH-Center for Enterprise Sciences and the
International Executive Program (IEP) at INSEAD, Fontainebleau (F).
Between 1982 and 2001 he held various management positions at
Mettler-Toledo, latterly as General Manager Standard Industrial. He
then moved to Feintool International Holding AG in Lyss, where he was
responsible for the Feintool Automation Division until mid-2004.
