From Sustainable Development to CSR: Legrand Takes Another Step Forward
Limoges, France (ots/PRNewswire) - On the occasion of its Annual General Meeting, Legrand yesterday outlined its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, unveiling its new roadmap for 2014-2018.
"At Legrand, which is already firmly committed to Sustainable Development, we are today taking a further decisive step forward by placing users and their requirements at the core of our commitment", stated Gilles Schnepp, Legrand Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "In view of the new environmental, societal and technological challenges facing us, we consider it our responsibility, as a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures, to enable the greatest possible number of people to have lasting access to electricity, all over the world. This is the very foundation of our Social Responsibility."
An integrated CSR strategy
At Legrand, CSR is an integral part of the Group's business and strategy, and contributive to its growth. Based on four focal points, it aims to offer USERS sustainable solutions, while acting ethically towards SOCIETY, committing to its EMPLOYEES, and limiting the Group's impact on the ENVIRONMENT.
2014-2018 roadmap: solid foundations and strengthened ambitions
This new CSR roadmap, Legrand's third since 2007, forms a natural extension of the Sustainable Development approach the Group has been conducting for many years now. Legrand hereby reasserts its commitment to the sustainable development of its business, setting itself more ambitious targets than in previous roadmaps.
The 2014-2018 roadmap reflects a longer-term commitment on the part of the Group. On the basis of an analysis of priority fields of action conducted interactively with stakeholders, it sets precisely quantified targets. It also fits perfectly with the Group's new growth segments, especially assisted living and energy efficiency. Taking on board the Group's initiatives aimed at ensuring progress for the entire electrical sector, it makes contributors accountable for their results.
As part of its continuous improvement approach, Legrand pledges to ensure annual publication of its results on the 21 priorities listed in its new roadmap.
