6-month report/Q2 figures
28.08.2008
London, 28 August 2008 - For the second quarter of 2008, the turnover
of the Air Berlin Group increased from EUR *814.8 to EUR 869.5
million, i.e. a 6.7 percent increase over the 2nd quarter of the
previous year. Operating income was adversely affected by the
transaction costs and the consultancy fees related to the
cancellation of the Condor acquisition, and the high start-up costs
for the routes to China. As a result, EBIT decreased from EUR *18.7
to EUR 13.8 million. Net consolidated income improved from EUR *6.0
to EUR 8.3 million. Despite the challenges stemming from the
weakening global economy and the development of kerosene prices, the
Board of Directors remains optimistic about achieving a positive
operating income for the current year. Details on the 2008 Quarterly
Report will be published on our website on 28 August 2008 as of 8:30
