Global Expansion

Subtitle: Development of international sales of Almex ticketing systems

Hannover / Germany, 19/05/2011. (euro adhoc) - Alfred Ndongmeza is taking charge of the Hoeft & Wessel Group´s Almex business division in France. The appointment of this expert in ticketing and telematics solutions is the next step in the IT hardware and software specialist´s expansionary strategy in international markets.

The group of companies operating in the B2B segment already has systems installed in more than 30 countries and generates almost 50 per cent of sales abroad. Hannover-based Hoeft & Wessel drives the expansion through its international network of partners who are all specialists with a proven track record in local sales.

The 43-year-old engineering graduate and MBA Alfred Ndongmeza was born in France and studied in Duisburg. He was been working in this industry sector since 1992, focusing on the French-speaking regions.

Ndongmeza can see considerable growth potential in market for ticketing and telematics solutions in France: "About 76 per cent of the population in France lives in urban areas. In these urban centres, the regional public transport infrastructure is exceptionally well developed. In Paris, for example, you are never more than 500 metres away from the nearest Métro station. What is more, the French government is also investing in the public transport infrastructure for ecological reasons. Lyon, Lille, Marseille and Toulouse, for instance, expand their transportation systems at great expense. Bus and rail networks are being established in numerous regions. This is where we come in with our entire range of Almex solutions - from on-board computers with integrated ticket printers right through to web-based support for maintenance and service."

Hoeft & Wessel is well positioned to pursue further international activities through its Almex division. "The universal design approach and our ability to achieve a seamless integration with customers´ legacy systems has already proved to be successful throughout Europe," says Thomas Wolf, member of the Board of Management of the Hoeft & Wessel Group and responsible for the Almex division, amongst others. "Ticketing and telematics are technologies that support the global trend towards greater urbanisation, which will lead to higher levels of networking and automation in the transport infrastructure. Our pioneering role in the implementation of e-ticketing standards such as Calypso, ITSO and the VDV core application is placing us in a very good position to participate in these trends."
