In the past few months, the necessary building ground survey was carried out for the sites of all planned 84 wind energy plants and the transformer station. Thorsten Fastenau, manager of the offshore division and chief representative of PNE WIND AG, explains the results: "The surveys were carried out with a special boat in accordance with the building ground surveying standards of the BSH (Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency). For this, 84 cone penetration tests were made with an average survey depth of 48 metres and 11 additional holes were drilled for the removal of soil samples." The survey was carried out by Fugro Consult GmbH with technical support from two representatives of the foundation engineers Steinfeld&Partner GbR, who also produced the survey concept. The work in the project area about 40 kilometres to the north of the island of Norderney took around 10 weeks. For the survey, the 111-metre-longe offshore drilling ship "Fugro Saltire" was used, which among other things has its own 150-ton crane on board and was placed into service in 2008 especially for offshore deployments. With the completion of this deep building ground survey at the sites of the future offshore wind energy plants, an important step has been taken in the framework of the concrete technical development of the offshore project "Gode Wind II". Martin Billhardt, Chairman of PNE WIND AG: "Together with our project partners, we are working very intensively and on the most various levels to meet all the conditions for the start of construction of this offshore wind farm project as swiftly as possible. The successful survey makes us confident that it will be possible to start the realisation of "Gode Wind II" in 2011/2012." Company profile PNE WIND AG with its headquarters in Cuxhaven develops and implements wind farm projects on land (onshore) and at high sea (offshore). Its core competence is the development, planning, implementation and financing of wind farms and their operation or sale including subsequent service. So far, the company has set up 95 wind farms with 544 wind energy systems and a total nominal output of 788 MW. Alongside its business activities in the established German home market, PNE WIND AG is also increasingly investing in dynamic growth markets and has subsidiaries and representations via joint ventures in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, the UK, USA and Canada. Wind farm projects with a nominal output of about 1,700 MW are currently being processed in these countries and are to be implemented in the medium term. In Germany (onshore) currently wind farm projects with a nominal output of more than 800 MW are being processed. Furthermore, PNE WIND AG develops offshore wind farm projects, three of which have already been approved in German waters. Entering promising foreign markets is also being examined for the offshore area. end of announcement euro adhoc -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ots Originaltext: PNE Wind AG Im Internet recherchierbar: Further inquiry note: PNE WIND AG Press and Public Relations Rainer Heinsohn Tel: +49(0) 47 21 - 7 18 - 4 53 Fax: +49(0) 47 21 - 7 18 - 3 73 E-mail: Investor Relations cometis AG Ulrich Wiehle / Dirk Stauer Tel: +49(0)611 - 205855-11 Fax: +49(0)611 - 205855-66 E-mail: Branche: Alternative energy ISIN: DE000A0JBPG2 WKN: A0JBPG Index: CDAX, Prime All Share, Technology All Share Börsen: Frankfurt / regulated dealing/prime standard Berlin / free trade Hamburg / free trade Stuttgart / free trade Düsseldorf / free trade Hannover / free trade München / free trade
