Von Mühlenen's Nantwich Success Continues With "Le Gruyère Premier Cru" awarded "Best Swiss Cheese"
Düdingen (ots) - Von Mühlenen proves its consistency by winning Gold and then going on to be awarded "Best Swiss Cheese" for "Le Gruyère Premier Cru" at the International Cheese Awards Nantwich, Cheshire on July 27/28th 2010; this follows on from last year's success as Supreme Champion "Best Continental Cheese" and runner up for the overall main prize.
Von Mühlenen remains the only Swiss cheese manufacturer to have ever won both "The Best Swiss Cheese & Supreme Champion Overseas" title at Nantwich.
Competition was stronger than ever this 114th year with overseas entrants growing, and with total record entries of around 3'000 cheeses from 24 countries.

The Nantwich International Cheese show was founded in 1897 and is one of the oldest and most traditional cheese events in the world, it's an integral part of the British Cheese calendar held every year in the ancient fields of Nantwich, and welcomes some 30'000 visitors along with 400 trade stands.
Von Mühlenen continues its unprecedented level of achievement at major cheese competitions, showing its continued strength and high quality cheeses; previous Nantwich awards include Supreme Champion overseas in 2006 & 2009. With complimentary successes at the World Cheese Awards in London being awarded World Champion of all Categories in 1992, 2002, 2005 & overall 2nd in 2008, this is another important milestone for Swiss Cheese & von Mühlenen.
