contract
Dortmund (euro adhoc) - Following an open tender by BARMER GEK, adesso AG has
been awarded a strategic partnership framework contract and will now support
Germany's largest health insurance provider in its software testing activities.
BARMER GEK is undertaking an ever-increasing number of major projects, and the
current contract covers the implementation of application tests to ensure their
subsequent error-free start-up. To achieve this objective, BARMER GEK will rely
on the expertise adesso has accumulated in the field of public health insurance
funds and modern software testing procedures.
BARMER GEK is currently updating a number of its existing software systems and
has selected the SAP-based sector-specific solution oscare® as its core
platform. BARMER GEK and adesso have signed a framework contract that runs for
several years so the insurance company has full access to expert support for its
inhouse IT unit's work on major projects. adesso will use company-wide testing
processes to ensure components in BARMER GEK's software solution can be launched
as planned and without software errors. To this end, adesso will assign testers
with certificates from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board
(ISTQB) to the job. These highly qualified professionals will not only be
familiar with the technical basis of the work, but they are also experts in the
relevant processes. Automated testing processes will also be used where possible
to ensure particularly efficient testing.
BARMER GEK is Germany's largest health insurance company and employees
approximately 15,000 people at over 800 offices and branches nationwide. The
company handles the health insurance needs of some 8.7 million people.
