Company Information
The employees of CompuGROUP don´t just deal
with the subject of healthcare during work hours - for many of the
over 2,800 software specialists, this is a topic that is near
and dear to their heart. The reports about the devastating
earthquake in Haiti were the impetus for a company-wide
collection of donations for the non-profit organization Doctors
without Borders.
"The pictures coming out of Haiti touched us deeply - there was
no time to waste", is how Ralf Glass, one of the initiator of
the donation campaign, describes the reaction of many of his
colleagues in the days following the horrific earthquake in the
Caribbean. "We received many emails about it and the devastating
earthquake was literally the last straw", is how Mathias Lange
described it. He is a member of the CompuGROUP Supervisory Board.
A call for donations was organized within a couple of days and in
Germany and Austria alone, in excess of 9,000.00 euros was
collected. CEO Frank Gotthardt added his own donation to bring the
amount to a total of 15,000.00 euros. "We want to help people
all over the world with our medical information technology",
said Frank Gotthardt, CompuGROUP´s Chairman and Founder. "But
oftentimes help has to be made available immediately, the way
Doctors without Borders provides it. It was beyond question that our
company would participate in this help."
Since the Austrian employees had already given their donation
to Doctors without Borders, a symbolic check was presented to the
German section today, in the Koblenz headquarters. With the CMO
Professor Dr. med. Stefan F. Winter present, an oversized check
in the amount of 12,000.00 euros was presented to Mrs. Mareike
Müller, a representative for Doctors without Borders.
"I am very proud that our colleagues took the initiative for this
collection", is how the chairman, Professor Winter commented on the
donation. "This may be the best way to demonstrate that we are
serious about helping people in need - professionally and beyond."
