Exciting Summer Science Camps for Students & Teachers Expand at Canada's Perimeter Institute

Waterloo, Canada (ots/PRNewswire)

- Young 'Einsteins' Can Attend Summer Science Camps in Canada
Budding young physicists, age 16 and 17, can now apply to attend
the "International Summer School for Young Physicists" (ISSYP) at
Perimeter Institute (PI) in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. 100 students
from across Canada and around the world will be challenged by some of
the most fascinating ideas about how the universe works - from the
weird quantum world of atoms to black holes, warped spacetime and the
expanding universe. Participation includes classes and small group
mentoring sessions with the international scientists at Perimeter
Institute. Lab tours, social events and other activities make this a
life changing experience for highly motivated students.
Science Teachers to Benefit from Expanded Workshops in Canada
A popular summer camp for science teachers is growing to
accommodate international participants. The "Einstein Plus Workshop
on Modern Physics" at Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, Ontario,
Canada, is expanding to include 3 one-week sessions and accommodate
up to 120 educators from across Canada and around the world. The
intensive workshops focus on key areas of modern physics including
quantum physics, special and general relativity and cosmology.
Sessions with PI Outreach experts and leading scientists explore
cutting-edge ideas as well as "how" to share scientific information
and the joy of discovery with students via PI's special
classroom-tested materials. Full workshop details are available at
www.perimeterinstitute.ca and include camp dates, application form,
April deadlines and information regarding how successful applicants
will have expenses covered while in Canada.
Perimeter Institute is an independent, non-profit research centre
where international scientists are clustering to push the limits of
our understanding of physical laws by contemplating and calculating
new ideas about the very essence of space, time, matter and
information. The Institute, located in Waterloo just outside Toronto,
also provides a wide array of educational outreach activities for
students, teachers and the general public across Canada and beyond in
order to share the joys of creative inquiry, research, discovery and
innovation. Additional information available at
