Roedental, July 3, 2007 - A banking consortium and major shareholders of Zapf Creation AG have so far been unable to reach an agreement regarding long-term follow-up financing for the company. Given the bank's existing financing terms, the shareholders are unwilling to make the contributions for a capital increase required from them. The agreement is necessary because the company's financing concept that is currently being discussed also provides for a capital increase to be guaranteed by the major shareholders in addition to the syndicated loan.
The negotiations between the new banking consortium and the shareholders have been interrupted. Nevertheless, the Management Board continues to work hard on reaching an agreement between the parties soon.
At the same time, the Management Board will now begin negotiations with the old banking consortium of Zapf Creation AG with the goal of once more extending the syndicated loan that expired on June 30, 2007, even in light of the new situation.
