November 30, 2007: At Leonardo Venture GmbH & Co. KGaA, the third quarter of 2007 was a quarter of growth: The Company enlarged its portfolio, wrote its Public Offering Prospectus and prepared for its capital increase pushing its shareholders´ equity by EUR 17 million to roughly EUR 45 million. The portfolio companies also reported positive operating developments. In line with the expectations, the annual deficit as of 30 September amounted to around EUR 1.1 million after EUR 2.0 million in the reference period 2006.
"In the third quarter 2007, we concentrated above all on our medium-term growth," explains Prof. Udo Wupperfeld, Managing Director of Leonardo Venture. "The preparations for our meanwhile completed capital increase and the associated segment switch went according to plan. And with Weise Water Systems GmbH we were able to enter into a very promising participation." As a result of Leonardo Venture´s investments, the participation volume rose to some EUR 22.6 million. At the end of the fiscal year 2006, it had been EUR 19.7 million.
The deal flow rose to 430 enquiries, which was almost twice as much the value of the entire previous year. "We have built up a promising pipeline of interesting companies. With these companies we will take the next steps in the investment process after the successful capital increase", added Prof. Hans-Georg Köglmayr, also a Managing Director of Leonardo Venture.
