Cash and securities handling company
SecurLog has a new CEO. Jürn Schmidt, 46, will take up the reins
at SecurLog on 15 September. SecurLog operates throughout Germany and
has about 3,000 staff. Schmidt, a Freight Forwarding Manager and
Industrial Engineer, will take over from restructuring expert Dr.
Michael F. Keppel, a Senior Director of Alvarez & Marsal, who has
been filling this position on an interim basis. Keppel will stay on
as SecurLog's Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) during the handover
period, which is expected to last until the end of the year. The
company has thus filled the key position in its new executive
structure. Further senior level appointments will be announced
"With Jürn Schmidt, we have been able to recruit an exceptional
manager from the transport und logistics industry - and one with many
years of executive experience, particularly in the field of sales and
process improvement. The handover period will guarantee the necessary
continuity at SecurLog, so we can keep winning new customers, and
growing the business," Keppel said.
In the past few months, Alvarez & Marsal has hit a series of
milestones at SecurLog: the stable, long-term ownership structure and
the company's well-motivated workforce will help make SecurLog the
leading cash and securities handling company in Germany. A number of
lucrative recent orders - such as Deutsche Post, Postbank and Ihr
Platz - show that SecurLog is on the right track. SecurLog's safe and
efficient cash handling process, and its extensive network, are
increasingly valued by customers in the banking and retail sectors.
"I am keen to take up the challenge at SecurLog and want to work
with the current workforce to keep this company moving forward.
SecurLog offers a comprehensive nationwide service for clients from
the financial services and retail sectors. Looking at the recent
successes of SecurLog, I am confident we will be able to keep growing
market share," Jürn Schmidt said.
Jürn Schmidt has more than 15 years of management and board level
experience in the freight and logistics industry. He was a member of
the management board of Kühne & Nagel AG Deutschland, CEO of
Hangartner AG in Switzerland, and chairman of the board of Birkart
Schmidt also spent a number of years as a partner at a corporate
consultancy, where he successfully advised various industrial and
logistics companies on their strategic repositioning.
