10.000 solar modules for PowerLight, a US corporation

PowerLight Corp., a leading global provider of large-scale
photovoltaic systems headquartered in California, has commissioned
aleo solar AG in Prenzlau to produce 10,000 solar modules. "We are
delighted about this first major order from our new American
partner," says Heiner Willers, a member of the management board of
aleo solar AG. "PowerLight will supply their own cells, which will be
processed into solar modules at the aleo plant in Prenzlau." The US
company will market the modules under its own name.  The solar
modules which aleo solar will deliver to PowerLight have a total
rated power of two megawatts. This OEM contract is a further
milestone for the listed solar company from Brandenburg in the
continued internationalization of its business. "We are pleased when
we can push ahead with our activities abroad together with
international partners," says Jakobus Smit, who is also a member of
the management board of aleo solar. "This order is a testament to the
internationally recognized manufacturing expertise of aleo solar and
shows that PowerLight attaches great importance to quality."
The Company aleo solar AG (previously S.M.D.) maintains distribution
offices in Oldenburg (Lower Saxony) and manufacturing facilities in
Prenzlau (Brandenburg). Founded in September 2001, the company
manufactures solar modules based on silicon cells. Around 230
employees currently work at both locations. The solar module
manufacturing facility in Prenzlau has an annual capacity of 90
megawatts, which makes it one of the largest facilities of its kind.
In 2005, aleo solar AG achieved sales of EUR 106.9 million. aleo
solar AG (DE000A0JM634) has been listed on the Prime Standard segment
of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since July 2006. By acquiring shares
in the Brandenburg-based technology company Johanna Solar Technology
GmbH, aleo solar AG has attained access to the promising future of
thin-film technology.
