Financial figures for the first quarter 2006
The Einhell group has developed positively in the first quarter of the financial year 2006. Turnover and profit were significantly exceeded compared to the same period last year.
The group turnover rose from EUR86,7 million to EUR98,1 million (+13.1%) by the end of March 2006 compared to the same period last year. Turnover in the domestic market increased from EUR46,9 million to EUR53,1 million (+13.2%). Turnover in the EU increased by 9.3% to EUR28.2 million (EUR25,8 million last year). Turnover in other countries increased by EUR10,7 million (EUR8,7 million last year) and turnover in Asia increased to EUR6,1 million (EUR5,3 million last year).
Compared to the same period last year, turnover at the "Tools" division grew significantly by 24.2% to EUR52,4 million (EUR42,2 million last year). Turnover in the "Garden and Leisure" division increased by 2.7% to EUR45,7 million (EUR44,5 million last year).
The profit level is also very satisfactory. Group profit before tax rose by 27.3% to EUR5,6 million (EUR4,4 million last year).The net profit increased to EUR4,0 million in the first three months compared to EUR3,0 million in the last year. Adjusted net profit (based on DVFA accounting standard rules) amounts to EUR3,7 million (EUR2,7 million last year) or EUR1.0 each share.
After the good performance in the first quarter, the performance in the second quarter has been also very satisfactory up to now. The group management is very optimistic that the planned turnover will reach EUR400 million by the end of the year at a constant earnings before tax margin.
