Wegelin & Co. Private Bankers elects new Partners

Wegelin & Co. Private Bankers have elected three new Managing Partners with unlimited liability and for the first time in the history of the bank have also elected seven Partners with limited liability from within its ranks. This move reflects the successful growth of Wegelin & Co. in the past few years and acknowledges the new partners' contribution toward this result. As of July 1, 2007, Christian Hafner (Head of the Zurich branch), Dr. Adrian Künzi (Head of the Geneva and Lausanne branches) and Dr. Christian Raubach (Head of Institutional Clients) will begin their responsibilities as Managing Partners with unlimited liability.
Complementing these appointments are the election to Partner with limited liability of; Rolf Kaufmann (Zurich branch), Werner Krüsi (Head of Client Advisors St. Gallen), Daniel Leveau, CFA (Head of Quantitative Strategies), Patrik Rüthemann, CFA (Head of Structured Products), Martin Schenk (Head of the Berne branch), Christoph Schwalm (Head of IT) and Oliver Widmer (Head of Trading).
This strengthening of the management structure will be a key factor in the bank's ability to continue pursuing its organic growth strategy. Over the past few years Wegelin & Co. has experienced an average annual growth rate in excess of 25 percent, ranking it well above its peers. Dr. Konrad Hummler, Managing Partner, comments on the appointments: "Our aim is to strengthen the bank by implementing an open and flexible management structure. We intend to systematically follow this path to ensure that our clients and business partners continue to have direct access to our entrepreneurial bankers."
Founded in 1741, Wegelin & Co. in St. Gallen is Switzerland's oldest bank. Three hundred employees work at eight locations throughout Switzerland and manage assets totaling over CHF 20 billion. The bank maintains its status as a limited partnership and the current Managing Partners with unlimited liability, Dr. Konrad Hummler, Dr. Otto Bruderer, Dr. Steffen Tolle, Dr. Magne Orgland and Michele Moor welcome the new appointments.
