Rise in order receipts in 2005 to EUR 395 million / customer orders
for 219 turbines with a total capacity of 416 MW
Hamburg, January 4, 2006. Nordex AG exceeded its forecast for new
business in 2005, after raising its guidance as recently as in
October 2005. In fiscal 2005, the Company registered a 67 percent
rise in order receipts to EUR 394.8 million (previous year: EUR 236.4
million).
Accounting for roughly 62 percent, non-German orders again made the
greatest contribution to new business. In fact, for the first time,
Nordex received more orders in an export country than in Germany. In
France alone, it was awarded contracts worth EUR 177.6 million (45%)
due to its successful project development activities in that country.
In 2005, Nordex sold a total of 219 turbines with a combined capacity
of 416 megawatts (previous year: 138 turbines with 241.2 MW)
equivalent to an increase in capacity of over 70 percent. More than
every second order was for the large N80/N90 turbines (2,500 and
2,300 MW, respectively).
In response to strong demand in the first three quarters of fiscal
2005, Nordex raised its new business forecast in October from EUR 300
million to more than EUR 350 million.
