EANS-Adhoc: ANDRITZ receives further orders from Chinese sheet metal producing companies

Graz, October 28, 2009.  The international technology Group ANDRITZ, 
METALS business area, has received further orders from China 
totalling approximately 80 MEUR:
Benxi Iron & Steel Co. Ltd., Benxi, Liaoning Province, has placed an 
order with ANDRITZ METALS to supply an electrolytic galvanizing plant
for steel strip. The plant will operate on the basis of the Gravitel 
process developed by ANDRITZ and used for applications in the 
automotive and the household appliances industries. Start-up of the 
electrolytic galvanizing line, with an annual capacity of 309,000 t, 
is scheduled for the end of 2011.
Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel Co. Ltd., Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu 
Province, has commissioned the business area to deliver a new 
annealing and pickling line with a planned annual capacity of 435,000
t. The contract comprises the mechanical equipment, including a 
skin-pass mill, the complete electrical equipment, automation, and 
the annealing furnace. Start-up of the annealing and pickling line is
planned for mid-2011.
For Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co. Ltd., Tongling, Anhui 
Province, ANDRITZ METALS will supply a 20-high rolling mill for 
production of strip for the electronic industry. In addition to the 
complete mechanical equipment for the rolling mill, the scope of 
supply also includes the electric drives, automation and 
technological control system, as well as a roll grinding machine. 
Start-up of the plant, with an annual capacity of 40,000 t, is 
planned for the end of 2010.

engineering, electrical equipment, automation and after-sales 
service). This keeps the number of interfaces to a minimum and 
optimizes the overall process right down the line.
