Haarlem / Netherlands, May 24, 2006 - At the Annual General Meeting
of  LYCOS Europe N.V. (ISIN NL0000233195) held in Amsterdam today the
shareholders acknowledged the Supervisory Board’s and Management
Board’s business strategy. This is a significant sign of confidence
for the work of the management.  67,7 percent of the issued capital
have been represented at the meeting. The shareholders released the
Supervisory Board and the Management Board from liabilities for their
duties. The Management Board was also authorized to repurchase ten
percent of the issued capital on behalf of the company in order  to
raise the entrepreneurial flexibility.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Richter, former Chief Executive Officer of Axel
Springer AG and former CEO of BertelsmannSpringer, was reappointed by
the shareholders as Chairman of the Supervisory Board for additional
four years. Legal counsel  Dr. Dieter Bohnert and Juan Rovira de Ossó
were reappointed as members of the Supervisory Board for a new period
of four years. Elias Rodríguez-Viña was appointed as new member of
the Supervisory Board, succeeding José Mateu  Isturiz who had
resigned from the Supervisory Board as per March 21st, 2006.  The
company thanks José Mateu Isturiz for his contributions as member of
LYCOS Europe’s Supervisory Board.
