SkyEurope Airlines, Central Europe’s leading low cost airline,
announces its passenger traffic figures for the month of October
2005.
Compared to the same month of last year, SkyEurope increased its
passenger traffic by 47%, reaching 151,473 passengers. The load
factor increased by 0.4 percentage points to 69.7%
In the last 12 months ending October 2005, SkyEurope Airlines
transported in total nearly 1.78 million passengers, an increase of
115% compared to the same period of last year.
Christian Mandl, SkyEurope Airlines’ CEO, said: "We have seen a
strong passenger growth in October with a 47% increase compared to
the same month of last year and achieved a further increase in load
factor, which reached a level of nearly 70%. In addition to our
continued expansion eastwards by opening Bucharest and Sofia as new
destinations, we have opened attractive ski destinations for this
winter. In October, we started sales for the new routes between
London (Stansted) and Poprad, the gateway to Slovakia’s value for
money ski resort in the High Tatras, and the connections from
Manchester, Barcelona and Warsaw to Salzburg, as well as the routes
from Amsterdam and Paris to Innsbruck, that will offer direct low
fare flights into the heart of the Austrian Alps."
