PepsiCo Beverages Italy Selects Datastream 7i to Manage and Track 20,000 Assets

Greenville, South Carolina (ots/PRNewswire)

- PepsiCo Beverages Italy Selects Datastream's Asset Performance
Management Solution to Increase Operational Efficiency, Measure KPIs
and Track Individual Events Related to its 20,000 Assets
Datastream Systems, Inc. today announced that PepsiCo Beverages
Italy, a division of one of the world's largest food and beverage
companies, has selected the Datastream 7i(TM) Asset Performance
Management and maintenance management software solution. Datastream
7i will be used to manage equipment (like refrigerators and
fountains) that the company provides, under a specific free-loan
agreement, to its numerous point of sales in order to leverage the
sales of its own beverage products.
These assets represent for PepsiCo Beverages Italy a valuable
property in terms of "economic value" as well as in terms of "product
quality" for the final customer. The status of operating and
maintaining these assets directly impacts the perception of the final
customer and consequently the growth of the market segment.
The aim of PepsiCo Beverages Italy is to operate in one single
environment. Datastream 7i not only supports all asset management
processes but also allows the accurate handling of all related
operational transactions. In addition, it is possible to analyze the
full history of each asset and measure the organization performance.
Within PepsiCo Beverages Italy, all the activities are managed by
a department called Market Equipment Management (MEM) and include the
shipment of equipment, inspection of operational status, corrective
and preventive maintenance, checking of product quality indicators
and disposal of assets. MEM reports to the sales department and
therefore is directly involved in the sales process.
Datastream 7i will be deployed to support part of the sales
process, track the transactions managed by MEM and related to each
asset, integrate all the players (such as PepsiCo, Technical Support
Center, and suppliers) onto one single Web platform, optimize weekly
and monthly reporting, and measure the most relevant performance
indicators/KPIs. The project is in an advanced progress stage and
some modules are already live.
"Datastream 7i is the ideal solution for us because its advanced
features make it not only an operational support but also an
integration tool for various players. And, it allows us to accurately
analyze and measure our operational and business performance," said
Giovanni Guazzoni, IT manager of PepsiCo Beverages Italy. "Lastly,
the ability to adapt to business needs, always changing, was a key
element in the selection of Datastream 7i."
"The project, developed together with Datastream Italy, will
position us among the most advanced PepsiCo worldwide units and will
allow us to measure our performances and compare them with those of
the other countries. At the same time, we will have a solution to
ensure complete control on all of our equipment," added Roberto
Girotto, manager of the MEM department of PepsiCo Beverages Italy.
