Nissan Europe Reports June Sales

TRAPPES, France, July 6 (ots/PRNewswire)

Nissan Europe reported
total sales of 52,471 vehicles (1) in June 2004, an increase of 3.4%
over the same month last year.
In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan
Europe sold 285,164 units, 6.62% up from last year.
HIGHLIGHTS BY COUNTRY
  • Nissan in France sold 5,297 units in June, registering a 39.4% increase compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan sold 25,225 units in France, up by 12.4% compared to last year.
  • In Germany, Nissan sold 5,820 units in June, representing a decrease of 13.1% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan sold 28,862 units in Germany, 14.2% down from last year.
  • In Italy, Nissan sold 7,492 units in June, representing a decrease of 14.9% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan sales in Italy rose to 43,986 units, up by 18% compared to last year.
  • Nissan in Spain sold 6,254 units in June, up 5.5% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan sales in Spain rose to 33,240 units up by 13.7% compared to last year.
  • In the UK, Nissan sold 9,679 units, a decrease of 6.4% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan's sales in the UK fell to 54,115 units, down 5.14% compared to last year.
  • In Russia, Nissan sold 3,282 units, an increase of 370.2% compared to last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, Nissan's sales in Russia rose to 10,321 units, up 155.5% compared to last year
MODEL HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Micra was Nissan's best-selling European model with a total of 16,901 unit sales in June representing a decrease of 2.3% against the same month last year. In the six month period from January to June 2004, total Micra sales reached 91,582 units, up by 14,4% compared to last year.
  • X-TRAIL sales increased by 45.1% in June against the same month last year to 6,032 units. In the six month period from January to June 2004, total X-TRAIL sales reached 32,950 units, up by 39.6% compared to last year.
  • Pickup sales increased by 7.2% in June against the same month last year to 4,141 units. In the six month period from January to June 2004, total Pickup sales reached 22,027 units, up by 22.9% compared to last year
Nissan employs around 12,000 people in its European design,
research and development, manufacturing, logistics, and sales and
marketing operations. Last year, the company produced a total of
448,513 vehicles in its Spanish and British plants and sold 542,292
vehicles in Europe. Nissan Europe's Head Office is based in Trappes
(Paris), France.
