USU AG, an international provider of IT
solutions in Business Service Management, was assessed as "promising"
by Gartner in the current MarketScope for the IT Asset Management
Repository 2008.* In total 11 vendors were included in the research,
among those two from Europe.
Gartner rates providers in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) market that
"manage and integrate financial, physical and contractual data
throughout the IT asset life cycle." Moreover, "core attributes
include the capability to capture and maintain asset costs,
depreciation, chargeback, contract terms and conditions, vendor
service levels, asset maintenance, ownership, and entitlements
associated with inventory components and configuration items that
are necessary for the effective management and optimization of IT
asset performance." Gartner expects market penetration for
centralized ITAM repositories to increase significantly, from
approximately 35 % today to 70 % during the next five years. Gartner
assesses software manufacturers in the MarketScope according to their
market understanding, offering strategy, business model, innovation
and product/service, as well as other criteria.
Valuemation is a comprehensive, modularly structured product suite
featuring newly integrated technologies and functions covering all
the disciplines required for ITIL-compliant Business Service
Management in one powerful and convenient application. Core topics in
ITIL Version 3 are already supported in the current version by such
tools as the Service Knowledge Management System (SKMS) for effective
knowledge transfer from the greatest variety of data sources and
Service Level Management for IT operations. Supported by a
Configuration Management Database (CMDB), USU applications monitor,
evaluate and optimize all IT systems and components involved in
controlling business processes and components. Critical objectives
for these applications include ensuring the highest availability of
mission-critical IT systems, minimizing failures (downtimes),
providing full transparency over all IT data as well as enabling
great cost effectiveness and a high quality of service. In its market
segment, USU has enjoyed long-term partnerships with well-known,
prominent companies and organizations such as Woolworth, Allianz,
T-Online, T-Systems, BMW Group, Swiss Re, Poste Italiane and MTU.
"Our view of IT asset management goes beyond pure technology and
takes the business side of things into consideration. With the
Valuemation product line, we bundle all business, strategic and
technical knowledge about IT. We believe the current Gartner
MarketScope proves that we are a leading manufacturer in this
attractive market. We also experience an intensified demand for our
products as another confirmation of our strategy of business-oriented
IT Service Management," comments Bernhard Oberschmidt, CEO of USU AG.
