The Management Board of USU Software AG is announcing an unscheduled goodwill impairment of EUR 5.0 million (PY: EUR 15.2 million) for the 2003 financial year, as required in accordance with US-GAAP. On completion of the restructuring phase in summer 2003, the impairment test led to this unscheduled writedown. This writedown does not impact liquidity.
The expectations for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the 2003 and 2004 financial year remain unchanged, however. To this extent, a net profit for the 2004 financial year is expected.
USU Software AG will announce its final financial results for the 2003 financial year and the initial trends for the start of the 2004 financial year in its annual press conference on March 25, 2004.
