WISeKey SA announces the acquisition of WISeKey ELA S.L.

WISeKey SA, the leading information security and identity management company based in Switzerland, announced today the acquisition of WISeKey ELA S.L., its Joint Venture created in Spain in 2006 with an equal participation of 50% by WISeKey SA and the Basque group Veliba Sectec SL,: http://www.presseportal.ch/de/pm/100006027/100503769/wisekey_sa
During the last 3 years WISeKey ELA developed the Spanish market for WISeKey and was instrumental in closing a contract with the Government of Biscay on the BiscayTik project: http://www.presseportal.de/go2/wise2
This led to the recent announcement by Microsoft "WISeKey´s Identity Semantics Suite enables pan-European eID interoperability with Microsoft´s Citizen Services Platform": www.wisekey.com/en/press/pages/microsoft-presscenter.aspx
This is a new product suite that WISeKey is offering across Europe to enable governments to meet the 2010 deadline set by the European Commission on the interoperability of European electronic identity and citizen services.
Since 2006, WISeKey ELA has also closed several key reference projects, such as Healthsign in Catalonia, which is a leading-edge project for the health sector worldwide that can easily be replicated.
This acquisition of WISeKey ELA S.L. by WISeKey SA allows the company to integrate and manage all processes from its Headquarters, thus maximizing the efficiency and delivery of each activity.
The operation is also an important element in consolidating the Group and its shareholders.
WISeKey is now in the process to recruit new staff in Spain to support the projects it has in this market. WISeKey ELA will be renamed WISeKey EMEA and will operate projects in the European region and in the Middle East. The Company will remain located in Spain.
