Peter Lyne Appointed Vice President and Managing Director EMEA for Somera Communications

Somera Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMRA), a global provider of

Peter Lyne has joined the company as Vice President and Managing
Director for EMEA (Europe Middle East, and Africa) operations. Mr.
Lyne will be based at Somera's EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam.

manufacturers, a deep understanding of telecommunications equipment

Prior to joining Somera, Lyne served as President for Nortel
Networks Global Professional Services, EMEA, where he was responsible
for developing a services business encompassing all aspects of the
development, sales and delivery of the Services Business solutions.
Under his management, Nortel experienced a six times increase in
business from this division. Prior to this, Lyne served as a Vice
President at Nortel Networks GPS EMEA, where he was responsible for
the Global Cable & Wireless Account. Lyne has also served as a
Managing Director of Bell Cablemedia South and for Bell Cablemedia
East Anglia. He has also held senior sales positions with ICL and STC
Submarine Systems.
