Great interest in cablecom digital phone

Following the large-scale launch of cablecom
digital phone last Tuesday, 8 June  2004, cablecom has encountered a
large demand for their fixed network telephone product offering. A
total of  3,000 persons applied for cablecom digital phone in the
first three days after the official launch. That is more than in the
entire previous month.

Already three days after the large-scale market launch of cablecom
digital phone, more people have signed up for this service than in
the month of May 2004. Independent analysts such as Comparis confirm
that cableocm digital phone is the most attractive product on the
Swiss market (press release from 8 June 2004). A survey by the
newspaper "20 Minuten" on 10 June furthermore showed that 70 percent
of the persons surveyed would opt for cablecom digital phone.

Jude Blake, Head of Consumer Business Unit at cablecom, commented:
"We have the most attractive product on the Swiss market in terms of
price and performance for broadband internet and now also for
telephone services. I am particularly happy that our customer service
can handle the great demand thanks to the improvements introduced
last January. The Call Center staff was able to answer 90 percent of
all orders within 60 seconds. At the same time, the applications via
internet at www.cablecom.ch quadrupled."

No problem switching

In view of the interesting cablecom rates of zero and three
centimes a minute, it is not surprising that many consumers find it
easy to switch over from the former monopolist. Also no problem are
the administrative aspects in changing to cablecom digital phone,
which can be done in three easy steps:

   - Apply by internet or phone
   - Number porting by cablecom
