Westag & Getalit AG acquires stake in AKP Acrylkantenprofis GmbH

On February 17, 2006, Westag & Getalit AG agreed to acquire a 49%
stake in AKP Acrylkantenprofis GmbH with retroactive effect from
January 1, 2006.

Based in Meiningen/Thuringia, AKP Acrylkantenprofis GmbH specialises
in the production and marketing of worktops. The company is also the
sole shareholder of masline Küchenarbeitsplatten GmbH, a company
specialising in cutting, machining and finishing natural stone and
composite stone worktops. Fitted kitchen retailers make up the main
customer group of AKP Acrylkantenprofis GmbH which is a major buyer
of kitchen worktops manufactured by Westag & Getalit AG’s.

The two companies plan to continue and intensify their cooperation in
future. The plan is to push ahead the marketing of kitchen worktops
particularly in the market segment of fitted kitchen retailers and to
gain incremental market shares.

AKP Acrylkantenprofis GmbH and its masline subsidiary employ a total
of 59 people and generated approximately EUR 5.5 million in sales in
2005. The management board is led by the main shareholder, Dietmar
Hirn. He is joined by Edmund Volmer, member of the Management Board
of Westag & Getalit AG. The purchase price of the investment remains
undisclosed under the agreement.
