S&T Plans Takeover of a Slovenian IT Provider
- Further move toward higher value added - PC and printer repair business sold
Vienna, 4 July 2003 - Hermes Plus Slovenia, the Slovenian subsidiary of S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG, today announced that it has signed a letter of intent to purchase 100 percent of the Atlantis Group. S&T will take over the Slovenian IT provider with 42 highly qualified IT consultants for Microsoft Software solutions as well as a support and a training centre in exchange for S&T's Slovenian PC and printer repair business and an undisclosed amount of cash.
"The transaction is a further strategic move to strengthen our lead on the IT market and boost our competence in the field of Microsoft Software products and services," said S&T-CEO Karl Tantscher. The acquisition will be finalized by the end of summer subject to a successful due diligence.
The deal is in the best interests of both companies, given the opportunities it provides to enhance their core businesses. S&T will take over large accounts in Slovenia in the financial and public sector and will increase its market lead in software solutions and IT services in the region. S&T employs 327 highly qualified professionals in the Adriatic region (Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro), 213 are based in Slovenia.
