Kreuzburg will succeed Claassen as the Sartorius CEO; Maaz also appointed to the Executive Board (E)

At its meeting on November 11, 2002, the Supervisory Board of Sartorius AG unanimously passed a resolution to appoint Dr. Joachim Kreuzburg with immediate effect as a member of the Executive Board and as its future Chairman and Group CEO.
On the Executive Board, Kreuzburg, age 37, will be responsible at first for the areas of finances, controlling and investor relations. After the current Executive Board Chairman and Group CEO leaves the company - he is switching to the EnBW Group in Karlsruhe as its new Chairman of the Board of Management as already announced - Kreuzburg will assume the position of Executive Board Chairman and Group CEO.
The Supervisory Board of Sartorius AG also unanimously decided to appoint Dr. Guenther Maaz, age 53, the current President of the Mechatronics Division, as a member of the Executive Board with immediate effect.
By making these staff decisions, the Supervisory Board considers that it has met the personnel and organizational prerequisites to successfully continue with its process of refocusing the Sartorius Group, which it had begun five years ago. The Supervisory Board is particularly pleased that it has been able to fill both new positions by promoting in-house staff. This is the result of the systematic human resources development of the past years.
