Cologne, 8 May 2006. VIVACON AG (ISIN DE0006048911) announces the creation of a new Isle of Man-based residential real estate investment company. The new company, to be called "Vivacon German Properties PLC", is to be floated on the AIM segment of the London Stock Exchange and intends to raise up to EUR 500m in equity. Vivacon German Properties PLC intends to acquire profitable residential real estate portfolios in Germany, which are to be managed by a newly-created asset management subsidiary of Vivacon AG.
The planned IPO represents an expansion of VIVACON AGs asset management activities. In order to strengthen this area, Vivacon AG has appointed Peter Brock to head the new asset management subsidiary. Mr. Brock was previously Managing Director of one of the largest financial investors in the area of residential property in Germany and brings a wealth of experience in the acquisition, financing and management of large residential portfolios.
VIVACON AG intends to take a stake in the new company on listing in order to be able to participate in the potential increase in value of the companys residential real estate portfolio.
The IPO is expected to take place in Q2 2006; an international investment banking consortium has already been mandated. Further details will be announced shortly before the IPO.
