Change of presidency on the Board of Directors of the Goldbach Group
Küsnacht-Zürich, 5 March 2013. On 30 April 2013 the Board of Directors of
Goldbach Group AG will propose Jens Alders to the General Meeting for
appointment as the new President of the Board. As planned, Bruno Widmer is to
hand over the reins after presiding over the Board of Directors of Goldbach
Group AG for six years.
"It was agreed from the outset that my tenure as President would last six
years. I am now stepping down at the right time for both the company and
myself", notes Bruno Widmer (1941). "The Goldbach Group is in excellent shape
and enjoys a high standing. Led by a highly capable and visionary group
management team, it boasts a robust balance sheet and consistently reports good
figures", the outgoing President of the Board of Directors continued.
Jens Alder (1957) is now set to follow in Bruno Widmer's wake. Jens Alder holds
a degree in electrical engineering from the Eidgenössische Technische
Hochschule (ETH) in Zurich. In 1986 he graduated from INSEAD in Fontainebleau
as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Jens Alder has played an
influential role at various companies. In 1999 he was appointed CEO of
Swisscom. From 2006 to 2008 he was CEO of TDC, Denmark's largest telephone
company. He currently sits on various boards of directors and is president of
the boards of Sanitas Krankenversicherung and Industrielle Werke Basel (IWB).
"Jens Alder is an established business personality with a profound knowledge of
the telecommunications industry. He has proven his ability to develop a company
along successful lines. We are convinced that he is the right person to ensure
Goldbach Group AG's lasting success on a strategic level", declares Bruno
Widmer.
In his capacity as Vice-President, Beat Curti paid tribute to the departing
