Conergy and MEMC agree amended Solar Wafer Supply Contract
Conergy AG and MEMC Electronic Material, Inc. today agreed to amend their 10-year wafer supply contract. According to Conergy´s new business strategy, the sales volume of the contract has been adjusted to up to $4 billion compared to $7-$8 billion in the original agreement. This amendment provides more operational and financial flexibility for Conergy to implement its new strategy.
Under the terms of the amendment, the volume of solar wafers supplied to Conergy will be reduced, primarily in the later years of the contract, in consideration for slightly higher prices. All other main terms and conditions remain unchanged. As agreed between the parties, delivery of wafer will begin in the third quarter of 2008.
