Further Expansion of Security Measures at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt/Main (ots)

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) - which already has
very high security standards - has implemented further security
measures as a result of the latest developments in Afghanistan and
the surrounding region. Expanded security controls, which have long
been required for U.S.-bound passengers and their hand luggage, will
immediately take effect for all flights of British carriers operating
at FRA. In the coming days, the extra procedures could cause delays
at the control points in the terminals. Therefore, Fraport AG
Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide (the company owning and managing
FRA) advises these passengers, as well as passengers traveling to the
U.S., to plan their itinerary accordingly and to arrive at the
airport earlier than usual. To prevent delays at the security
control points, all passengers are again requested not to travel with
potentially dangerous items, such as scissors, knives, etc., in their
hand luggage or jacket pockets. Such items should be or left at home
or packed in check-in baggage.
