BKW Energie AG

Acquisition of A. Dietrich Kälte Klima Lüftung AG, Schönenberger & Partner AG and Frosio S.r.l.
BKW expands its building technology and engineering offering

Bern (ots)

BKW has topped off its building technology offering in eastern Switzerland by acquiring two new companies. Schönenberger & Partner AG, which has offices in the towns of Rickenbach and Tobel in the canton of Thurgau, operates in the field of sanitary installations, photovoltaics, heating and ventilation. Meanwhile, A. Dietrich Kälte Klima Lüftung AG is based in Beringen in the canton of Schaffhausen and specialises in cooling technology, ventilation and air conditioning. In addition, BKW has signed a purchase agreement via BKW Italia for a majority 70 per cent holding in Frosio S.r.l. The engineering company based in Brescia specialises in hydraulic engineering and hydro power plants. These acquisitions will allow BKW to continue to drive forward its strategy of rapidly developing its service business.

Lars Losinger, CEO of BKW ISP AG, to which the two building technology companies will be affiliated, is looking forward to the collaboration: "These companies have been in the business for over 30 years and have built up outstanding reputations. By providing reliable services they have also developed extensive customer networks." Schönenberger & Partner AG, which mainly operates in the Wil region of Switzerland, employs 25 staff and has turned over around 5.7 million Swiss francs in the past few years. A. Dietrich Kälte Klima Lüftung AG, on the other hand, employs 16 people and has generated revenues of over 3.4 million Swiss francs over the past few years. It operates all over Switzerland with a focus on the greater Zurich area. The engineering company Frosio S.r.l., which is based in Brescia in Italy's Lombardy region, offers consulting, planning and monitoring services for hydro power plants, hydraulic engineering and dam construction, and is the Italian market leader in these fields. The company also operates outside Italy and sets standards in terms of professionalism and quality. In the past few years the engineering company, with its 20-strong team, has generated revenues of 2.4 million euros. These acquisitions will allow BKW to develop its expertise and expand its customer network, both nationally and internationally. The three companies fit perfectly into BKW's existing portfolio in the fields of building technology and engineering. It will therefore be possible to exploit synergies in order to offer customers integrated services. Overall, as a result of the acquisitions, more than 60 new, highly specialised employees will help strengthen BKW's expertise and experience. The three companies will continue to be managed independently.
