Strategy
BKW enters the heating installation market

Bern (ots)

BKW is now active in the heating installation market. In order to accelerate market entry, it has acquired the companies Neukom Installationen AG (Rafz), Hertig Haustechnik AG (Wohlen) and Cantoni Haustechnik AG (Wohlen).

All three of the companies acquired by BKW are to be integrated into BKW ISP AG, but will continue to be run as independent entities using their existing names. In this way they will retain their strengths, such as regional presence and profile, while working together with BKW to secure further growth at a local level through an even broader portfolio (e.g. photovoltaics and solar thermal energy). The current management teams and all employees will continue to perform their current duties.

The acquisition of the three renowned and established companies means BKW now has over 100 employees in the area of heating installations. Its customers include national construction companies and general contractors as well as private building owners. Further company acquisitions are planned to cover the growing need for services in building technology.

By incorporating these companies into the BKW Group, existing competencies in photovoltaics, solar technology and energy management will be complemented with expertise in heating solutions, which also includes planning and installation for renewables, such as heating pumps. In this way, BKW is systematically implementing its strategy to become a leading energy and infrastructure service provider. The acquisition will also allow BKW to continue to expand its geographical presence in Switzerland and represents a step forward in the development of a Switzerland-wide service network for energy and infrastructure services. Furthermore, BKW is supporting the Federal Council's Energy Strategy 2050 through its innovative integrated solutions that help reduce CO2 emissions.

Neukom Installationen AG

Cantoni Haustechnik AG

Cantoni Haustechnik AG (formerly Rüefa - Cantoni Haustechnik AG) was founded in 1965 and acquired by Rinaldo Cantoni in 2001. Cantoni Haustechnik AG employs around 25 staff.

Hertig Haustechnik AG

Hertig Haustechnik AG was set up in May 1982 following the takeover of former company S.Gloor with Hans Hertig as owner. The company now has around 15 staff.
