Bern (ots) - Lonza AG in Visp has entered into a partnership with BKW FMB Energy Ltd (BKW) in the field of energy logistics and procurement management. Lonza plans to purchase its energy - around 500 GWh per year - on the free market in future, and has selected BKW as its partner of preference. BKW has contracted to support Lonza AG with its energy procurement strategy and sustainably implement the related strategic and operational procurement processes. As part of the partnership, BKW will take over responsibility for Lonza's metered data and balance group management and will draw up consumption forecasts. BKW will also help Lonza to purchase electricity. This includes advising the company on procurement decisions and providing the requisite market information.
This partnership will allow Lonza to operate efficiently in the liberalised Swiss electricity market and purchase energy at optimised cost and risk conditions.
