Banca del Gottardo supports Olympic hopeful Marie Polli

Banca del Gottardo has signed a sponsoring contract
with the race walker Marie Polli of the Lugano Athletic Club's (SAL
Lugano) Competitive Walking and Walking division. Ms Polli recently
qualified in her sport for next month's Olympic Games in Athens.
Banca del Gottardo announces that it has signed a sponsoring
contract with the Ticinese athlete Marie Polli. In the past few
years, Ms Polli has distinguished herself at the national and
international levels with outstanding results and has recently
qualified for the Olympic Games in Athens. In the weeks to come, Ms
Polli will be training intensely for what will be her first foray
into the Olympics.
The 24-year-old Polli has made amazing progress over the last five
years in the 20 km race, achieving a personal record of 1h 35' 47" on
top of setting the Swiss record for the 5'000m track (Montreux
02.06.01) and 10'000m track (Besançon F, 10.06.01) events in 2001 .
Many times Swiss champion from 1997 to today in the 5'000m track,
10'000m track, and 20km road competitions, in recent years Polli has
produced the best Swiss performance for various distances and has
placed excellently in a number of European competitions.
Marie Polli is not a professional walker and works part-time for
Banca del Gottardo. Banca del Gottardo's support is on the one hand
financial and material on the other is in the form of a paid leave
designed to make Polli's training easier.
Banca del Gottardo wishes Marie Polli great success and a future
in sports crowned with many new victories.

    BSI Group posts positive results again in 2003

    Lugano (ots) - The BSI Group posted positive results in 2003. Gross operating profit reached CHF 128 million, income came in at CHF 387 million and expenses for the year fell to CHF 259 million.
